David Levi

Director

David is a trusted advisor to accountants, lawyers, fund managers and others. He is highly experienced in providing financial and operational turnaround advice, exit strategies and crisis management expertise. Where required, he accepts appointment as voluntary administrator, deed administrator, scheme administrator, liquidator, receiver, and Court appointment. His skills include financial due diligence, forensic accounting and litigation support for disputes and Court-appointed matters.

David has strong local knowledge, and an outcome-driven focus to both achieve and communicate results. He brings positivity, inclusion and integrity to negotiations and the experience of having held senior positions at KPMG and PKF (now BDO). He is a Registered Liquidator and holds numerous professional memberships.

Amjad Samakeh

Senior Manager, Deals

Amjad specialises in delivering value to clients undertaking commercial and general transactions. He has significant experience with restructures, insolvency, commercial disputes, corporate value advisory, mergers & acquisitions, succession, real estate advisory, corporations and partnership matters. Before joining Levi Consulting, Amjad was a legal practitioner and spent three years as a credit analyst at a leading insurance firm.

Amjad has capacity to get transactions completed. He has achieved record breaking results in recent sales of businesses including mortgage broker, boarding houses, manufacturing businesses, medical practice, technology businesses and other.

Amjad has experience in retail and wholesale trade, construction and property, manufacturing, professional and personal services, and special situations. Amjad co-leads the deals team and is a trusted advisor to accountants, lawyers, barristers and their clients. He is highly skilled in dispute resolution and works with clients to achieve growth and complete acquisitions, divestitures and strategic alliances.

Lauren Waldon

Senior Manager, Projects

With more than 30 years’ experience in insolvency, professional services and regulatory matters, Lauren brings a deep understanding of corporate governance, forensic accounting, investigations, compulsory examinations and litigation management to the Levi Consulting team.

Lauren has developed an extensive network within the insolvency, regulatory and financial services industries.

Lauren joins Levi Consulting from the Australian Securities and Investment Commission where she was an executive level investigator and has formerly held senior manager roles within KPMG’s corporate and personal insolvency practice.

During her career, Lauren has supported a range of formal corporate insolvency appointments, provided expert witness statements and conducted public examinations and investigations. She has advised a range of ASX-listed companies and small to medium businesses on restructuring solutions.

Michael Murray

Special Adviser

Michael has 30 years’ experience in Australia as an insolvency and reconstruction lawyer, writer and commentator. He is an observer of current corporate collapses and bankruptcies, and trends, and is closely involved in law reform, government and professional regulation, both in Australia and internationally. Michael also takes a keen interest in the wider connections of insolvency in law, economics and finance – employment law, tax, directors’ duties, family law and bankruptcy, comparative international and cross-border insolvency, and in professional conduct, regulation and ethics, and legal education.

Michael was formerly the Legal Director of ARITA, the professional body of insolvency practitioners and lawyers (2007-2016) and holds numerous professional memberships. He is a co-author of the standard insolvency text, Keay’s Insolvency (Thomson Reuters), now coming up to its 10th edition.
